A century ago William James declared that every person is governed by 99,99% habitual thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and actions.  These are our self imposed chains that keep us imprisoned.  And it is a life sentence.

He also said that genius is a life that is non habitual.  The energy fractal  is your key to your prison door and a new world of power and freedom to become non habitual.

The energy fractal hypothesis is as follows.

The energy fractal is based on proven scientific and evolutionary principles that directly change a person's neural biology.

Using the energy fractal to become a more powerful listener

Becoming a great listener is a stepping stone to wisdom.

Many leaders however have a weakness or blind spot in this key area of communication.  They may tend to interrupt and dominate the conversation, assuming a 'centre-of-the-universe' syndrome.  

This leads to a serious blind spot where team members develop a responsive stance of bovine acquiescence.  This then leads to a downward spiral of the leader talking more and people listening less - a genuine and common energy limiter.

The first and only first step is for a leader to grasp the simple concept that being a better listener generates both energy and power.  If a leader cannot grasp this, put them out to pasture!

Here is the energy fractal, which is guaranteed to make anyone a better listener.  Think of it as a hologram of the future.  Bringing a new future into the present.  The new energy fractal will automatically change your biology and your resultant behaviour and attitude. This is guaranteed.

Do the following consciously at least once a day.  The more often you do it every day the sooner you will evolve your biological shift.

"When talking with someone, relax, and let the person finish speaking.  Do not interrupt under any circumstances.  When they are finished speaking, count to three, and ask a question.  (This will show you have actually been listening.)"

How complexity emerges.  First and second order impact. 

I emphasised above that the power and impact of the energy fractal  lies in its repetition.  This is based on the application of the universal evolutionary algorithm.  Wherever you have repetition, variation and selection - you absolutely must get evolution.

Provided you apply your listening energy fractal on a disciplined and daily basis, you may expect to see the following.


First order impact is the conscious and logical result or outcome of the energy fractal. 

In this case, as you are changing your listening behaviour, you will be seen to be a better listener.  Period.

This is where things become interesting.  What will be the impact both on you and those around you of being a better listener?  This is a non-linear area beyond your control.  And the new area of emergent energy and complexity.

You may expect the following.

  • As an improved listener, your body language changes.  You become more relaxed.  You no longer have the annoying urge to interrupt.
  • You learn more about the other person as a human being.
  • You actually learn things you didn't know.
  • You will learn that other people are smarter than you think.
  • Other people will also relax in your company, feeling less stress and anxiety.
  • Others will now think you are smarter and wiser.
  • Others will trust and respect you more, given your new found maturity.

And all of this first order and second order impact generates system energy, the essential 'fuel' to drive performance.

A final word of advice - keep it simple 

Focus on this one energy fractal and nothing else.  Do not try to change more things at once.  This never works.

Remember that in complex human systems, everything is connected.  When you change your listening skills you automatically change your biology.  And when you change your biology you change who you are as a person.

And this affects every single thing you think, feel, say and do.
