Probability of our Survival at less than the odds of being trampled by a cow.

by John Raddall

WHAT IS THE PROBABILITY OF OUR SURVIVAL?

Like me, you may be confused by the bombardment on the one hand of economic growth data and environmental and climate warnings on the other.

Many years ago scientists looked at the possibility of other civilisations in our galaxy. (Drake equation and the famous Enrico Fermi Paradox. If the universe is awash with life, where are they?) I decided it was time to build our own leadership equation to measure the probability of our survival.

I have identified two key categories, leadership and environment.

LEADERSHIP RISK - INTELLIGENT THINKING AND INTELLIGENT ACTION

Given the evidence and if we take the top one hundred thousand most influential leaders in the world the level of environmental knowledge and positive related action is at an illiterate level. The odds of this group successfully managing the environment is close to zero.

CORRUPTION
Just completed "Kickback" by David Montero and reviewed Transparency International data - clearly corruption is our greatest existential threat, deeply embedded in our collective DNA.

Together with a range of environment factors, I calculate the Probability of our Survival at less than the odds of being trampled by a cow.

This may explain the Fermi Paradox.
